Shiokoji Hamburger Steaks

These hamburger steaks can be enjoyed together with any number of other foods, but note that the use of shiokoji to prepare the hamburger meat means you probably won’t need to add any sauce.

[Ingredients] (4 servings)
Combination of ground beef and pork……400g (14.1oz)
Onion……200g (1 large onion)
Olive oil……1tbsp
Black pepper……Pinch

[How to Make]
① Mince the onion. Add the olive oil to a frying a pan and then fry the minced onion on low heat until it softens.
② Place the ground meat into a mixing bowl, add the fried onion, shiokoji, and black pepper, and mix with your hands until the mixture is well combined.
③ Divide the ground meat mixture into four equal portions. Form them into patties, and make an indentation in the middle.
④ Add a bit of olive oil (not included in the amount given in the ingredients) to a frying pan and heat the pan. Fry the hamburger patties, browning both sides, then cover the frying pan to trap the steam. Turn the heat down to low to avoid burning the patties. After 2-3 minutes, test the doneness of the patties by sticking a bamboo skewer into them. If you see clear liquid come out, they’re done.
