【Ingredients】 (4-5 hotcakes)
Melted butter……30g (1.0oz)
Cake flour……150ｇ (5.3oz)
【How to Make】
① Put the flour and baking powder into a plastic bag, hold it shut, and shake it to evenly mix the contents.
② To a mixing bowl, add the egg, amazake, and melted butter, and then whisk.
③ Use a strainer to sift the flour and baking powder mix into the bowl with the egg-amazake-melted-butter-mixture and use the whisk to mix. Add the water, adjusting the thickness of the batter as you do. The batter should be thin enough to pour into the shape of a thin, round shape.
④ Heat a frying pan and coat it thinly with vegetable oil. Once the pan gets hot, place it on a wet towel to cool it a bit. Now, pour some of the batter into the pan, making a thin, round shape. Place the pan back on the burner at somewhere between medium and low heat. Allow the hotcake to cook to a nice brown color on both sides. You can test the doneness by sticking in a toothpick. If it comes out clean, it’s done.
※ Hotcakes are delicious dressed up with butter, whipped cream, maple syrup, honey, jam, fresh fruit, etc.
