Ingredients for 4 Servings
Cooked rice (ごはん / Gohan) 320g (80g per onigiri)
Pickled plum (梅干 / Umeboshi) 4 small
White roasted sesame seeds (白炒り胡麻 / Shiro irigoma) 2tsp
Nori (海苔 / Nori) 4/6 sheet
How to Make
1. Remove the seeds from the umeboshi. Place one quarter of the cooked rice on a section of plastic wrap big enough to enclose the rice. Spread the rice out a bit and add one of the umeboshi. Use the plastic wrap to bring the rice up and around the plum. Enclose the rice entirely in the plastic wrap and form it into a fattish triangular or disc shape.
2. Cut the nori into four equally sized squares. Unwrap the rice, sprinkle it with sesame seeds, and wrap it with a piece of nori.
