Ingredients
Wasanbon sugar (和三盆糖 / Wasanbontōh) 100g
Mizuame (水飴 / Mizuame) 1tsp
Water (水 / Mizu) 1tsp
Food coloring of your choice
How to Make
1. Sift the wasabon sugar to break up any lumps and create a powdery texture.
2. Combine the mizuame and water. If you choose to use food coloring, add it to the mizuame-and-water mixture. Add this liquid to the wasanbon sugar and use a rubber spatula to mix.
3. Sift the wasanbon-mizuame-water mixture. Use your fingers to push it through the mesh.
4. Press the wasanbon-mizuame-water mixture into the mold firmly. Remove the wasanbon confection from the mold.
