<Gobō and Tuna Salad >
Gobō (ごぼう / Gobō) 1 whole root
Carrots (にんじん / Ninjin) 1/2
Canned tuna (ツナ缶 / Tsuna kahn) 1 can (small size)
Sesame miso paste (味噌胡麻ペースト / Miso goma pēhsuto) 1 tbsp
Vinegar (酢/ Su) 2 tsp
Salt (塩/ Shio) 1/4 tsp
Black pepper (ブラックペッパー / Burakku peppāh) Pinch
How to Make
1. Rinse the gobō in water and then scrape off the skin. Cut the gobō into matchstick-size pieces. Soak these in water to remove unwanted flavors. Cut the carrot, too, into matchstick-size pieces.
2. Place the gobō and carrots in boiling water for about 1 minute, then remove and drain.
3. Combine the dressing ingredients in a mixing bowl. Drain off the excess oil from the can of tuna and then add the tuna and the gobō and carrots to the mixing bowl and mix.
Additional Ingredients for Sandwiches
Ōba, green leaf lettuce, or other things you would like to have in your sandwiches
Cut a roll in half horizontally. Spread the Sesame miso paste paste on the face of one half of the roll. Add some green leaf lettuce, ōba, gobō tuna salad, and top with the other half of the roll.
